# Find Archived Records Faster with a Search Icon and Expanded Date Range

Archive Search has a Search icon to initiate searches, and the default date range is one year. Date Archived is the default date field for all indexed objects. For objects without Date Archived indexing, Archive Search falls back to Last Modified Date automatically. These updates reduce the steps your users take to find archived records.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions.

**How:** In the Archive app, open the **Archive Search** tab. Enter your search criteria, select an object and field, and then select the **Search** icon to run the search. The expanded date range and Date Archived default apply automatically.
