# Create Agent Actions from Named Query API (Generally Available)

Define and expose custom SOQL queries as scalable actions for REST API clients and AI agents by using the Named Query API. A named query can retrieve data quickly and more efficiently than existing Flow or Apex processes.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions for an additional cost. Required add-on licenses vary by agent type. Setup for AI agents is available on the desktop site.

**How:** Create a Named Query API in Setup or in Visual Studio Code.
