# Easily Upgrade Agents from the Legacy Builder to the New Builder

Upgrade an agent from the legacy Agentforce Builder in Setup to the new Agentforce Builder in Agentforce Studio, with just a few clicks. Previously, you had to manually recreate your agent in the new builder. Now, you simply specify the agent and version that you want to upgrade, and then we create a new version in the new builder for you. The upgraded agent includes all of the original agent’s subagents, actions, system messages and settings, data, and connections, converted to Agent Script. Plus, after you upgrade, Agentforce can optimize your agent for Agent Script to improve your agent’s reliability and performance.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Foundations or Agentforce 1 Editions. Setup for AI agents is available on the desktop site.

**When:** This change is available on a rolling basis starting with sandboxes the week of May 18, 2026.

**How:** Upgrade your agent from the Agentforce Agents page in Setup, from the dropdown menu next to your agent in the list view.

Optionally, after you upgrade your agent, optimize your agent for Agent Script. Agentforce reviews your natural language instructions to suggest improvements and add deterministic controls to improve your agent’s reliability and performance.

Upgrading doesn’t affect your original agent, and you’re still able to access and edit the agent in the legacy builder.
