# Create Agents in the New Builder Only

The New Agent button is no longer available in the legacy Agentforce Builder in Setup. You can now create agents in the new Agentforce Builder in Agentforce Studio only. This change doesn’t affect your existing agents in the legacy builder. You can continue to edit, activate, version, and otherwise manage them. We recommend upgrading your agent from the legacy builder to the new builder, which creates a version of your agent in the new builder. The new version includes all of the original agent’s subagents, actions, system messages and settings, data, and connections, converted to Agent Script.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Foundations or Agentforce 1 Editions. Setup for AI agents is available on the desktop site.

**When:** This change goes into effect starting the week of July 13, 2026.

**How:** To create an agent, from the Agents tab of the Agentforce Studio app, click **New Agent**. You can create an agent from a template or create a custom agent with AI assistance.

To upgrade an agent, from the Agentforce Agents Setup page, click **Upgrade** from the dropdown menu next to your agent in the list view. Upgrading doesn’t affect your original agent, and you’re still able to access and edit the agent in the legacy builder.
