# Control Access to Layers and Folders in Salesforce Maps

Folder permissions are centralized to make sure access control is consistent. Salesforce Maps automatically hides layers within restricted folders from search results, Recents lists, and Plot on Load. Also, new capacity limits are in place to optimize performance and to make sure that users only interact with authorized data.

**Who:** The following permission sets now include access: Advanced, CommunityLogins, CommunityNamedUser, LiveAdmin, MapsAdmin, MapsUser, SFMaps, TerritoryPlanning, and TerritoryPlanningForSalesPlanning.

**Why:** To optimize performance and prevent timeouts, Salesforce Maps now limits folder saves to 2,500 rows and layer search results to 200 rows. Non-admins now view folders only for their subordinates within the role hierarchy.

**How:** Admins control Corporate folders by default, while Personal folders remain private. The role hierarchy determines User folder access. With permission logic now centralized, developers should verify access before creating or cloning layers.
