# Purchase a Standalone License for Data Detect

You can now acquire Data Detect without purchasing the full Shield bundle. The system is configured to validate the presence of this new, dedicated license and provide access to all Data Detect functionality.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience (not available in all orgs) in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions with the Salesforce Shield or Data Detect Licenses.

**Why:** If you need the flexibility for Data Detect to understand your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) exposure. Or, you want to run a scan before investing in full-scale remediation.
