Data Detect

Data Detect scan scope and scale increase to handle 100 objects with unlimited fields. You can now scan for custom keywords alongside structured sensitive data to improve regulatory compliance and flag sensitive internal terminology. With the availability of a Standalone License for Data Detect, you can understand your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) exposure. Or, run a scan without needing to purchase the full Shield bundle.

  • Increase Data Detect Scan Scope and Scale
Now, you can create or edit a scan with 100 objects to include an unlimited number of fields and historical records. This means performing comprehensive data integrity and compliance scans across a broader dataset in a single operation.
  • Scan for Custom Keywords with Data Detect
Improve operational and regulatory compliance by identifying specific, sensitive exact words or phrases within your data. You can now optionally scan for custom keywords alongside structured sensitive data (custom patterns) when creating a Data Detect policy.
  • Purchase a Standalone License for Data Detect
You can now acquire Data Detect without purchasing the full Shield bundle. The system is configured to validate the presence of this new, dedicated license and provide access to all Data Detect functionality.
  • Access and Run Data Detect Scans and Results with REST APIs
Use programmatic access with Salesforce Data Detect with two new REST APIs that can run and view scan results. Retrieve (GET) returns the list of existing Data Detect policies with their details. Scan posts the DataDetect policy scan for execution.
  • Data Detect Legacy-Managed Package End of Support on February 1, 2026
Support and updates for the Data Detect Legacy-Managed Package (called Einstein Data Detect in the past) ended as of February 1, 2026. You can continue to use the Salesforce Data Detect Legacy-Managed Package during and after February 1, 2026; however, we recommend that you use the new Salesforce Data Detect app instead. The new Data Detect app is now part of the Shield app.
