Microsoft announced the retirement of Exchange Web Services (EWS) starting October 1, 2026. Lightning Sync configurations that use EWS won’t capture or sync data from Microsoft after EWS is retired. To prepare, review the Microsoft guidelines on migrating to Microsoft Graph, the recommended API for accessing Microsoft services. Or, plan to move from Lightning Sync to Einstein Activity Capture. Contact Salesforce Customer Support to evaluate your options for more information on the Salesforce connection to Microsoft Graph API (beta).
Where: This feature is available in Lightning Experience in Starter, Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Einstein 1 Sales editions. It’s also available with the Einstein for Sales, Sales Engagement, and Revenue Intelligence add-ons.
Who: This change affects Lightning Sync configurations that use organization-wide OAuth 2.0 with EWS to connect to Microsoft Office 365 or Microsoft Exchange Service Account.
