Microsoft announced the retirement of Exchange Web Services (EWS) starting October 1, 2026. Lightning Sync configurations that use EWS won’t capture or sync data from Microsoft after EWS is retired.

- **[Prepare Lightning Sync for Microsoft Exchange Web Services (EWS) Retirement](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_sales_productivity_ls_update_from_ews.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Microsoft announced the retirement of Exchange Web Services (EWS) starting October 1, 2026. Lightning Sync configurations that use EWS won’t capture or sync data from Microsoft after EWS is retired. To prepare, review the Microsoft guidelines on migrating to Microsoft Graph, the recommended API for accessing Microsoft services. Or, plan to move from Lightning Sync to Einstein Activity Capture. Contact Salesforce Customer Support to evaluate your options for more information on the Salesforce connection to Microsoft Graph API (beta).
