# Confirm Participant Program Eligibility in Real Time

Save staff time, reduce manual errors, and improve the participant application experience by checking participant eligibility for programs instantly. Create robust eligibility criteria that are unique to each program, and check a participant’s eligibility against their participant record on an application with the Business Rules Engine. Intake coordinators can see a participant’s status, which helps them make faster decisions and prevent non-compliant enrollments.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where Program Management is enabled.

**Who:**

- To set up the eligibility rules admins need the Advanced Program Management and Rules Engine Designer permission sets.
- To check participant eligibility users need the Advanced Program Management, Track Applications, and Rules Engine Runtime permission sets.
