# Enforce Regional Cash Limits at Checkout

Restrict the amount of cash accepted during a sale. Updated CMS settings help your stores comply with local regulations by blocking cash tenders that exceed your defined threshold. The Point of Sale app, formerly Retail Cloud Modern POS, prompts associates to collect the balances that exceed the threshold via other payment methods and prohibits manager overrides to ensure strict compliance.

**Where:** This change applies to Point of Sale.

**How:** In CMS, go to **Store Management** | **Store Settings** | **OMS** and then expand **Advanced**. Enter a value for the **Max Cash per Order** field.
