# Packaging

Packaging facilitates the development and distribution of business apps. Use second-generation managed packages to create apps to sell and distribute on AppExchange. Use unlocked packages to develop internal business apps.

- **[Manage Package Upgrades with Customized Push Upgrades](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_packaging_customized_push_upgrades.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Customized push upgrades enable partners and customers to manage the push upgrade lifecycle. With this feature, partners can grant select customers the ability to block push upgrades. Customized push upgrades are especially useful for highly regulated environments where strict compliance and validation protocols require control of upgrade timing and version oversight. This feature provides the granular control necessary to ensure compliance and system stability during version transitions.
- **[Recommend a Package Version to Your Subscribers](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_packaging_recommended_version.htm&release=260&type=5)**
You can now encourage your subscribers to upgrade to a specific version of a package by setting a recommended version. When you set a package version as the recommended version, your subscribers see an **Upgrade to Recommended Version** option on the Installed Packages page in their org. Only released package versions can be the recommended version.
- **[Troubleshoot Subscriber Issues Faster by Enabling Debug Logs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_packaging_debug_logs.htm&release=260&type=5)**
You can now self-serve enabling a subscriber’s access to managed Apex debug log entries by using the License Management App (LMA). Use debug logs to troubleshoot issues that are specific to the subscriber’s interaction with the managed package. Previously, a subscriber’s access to debug logs showing ENTERING\_MANAGED\_PKG could only be granted by opening a Salesforce Partner Support case.
