# Get Null Values Easily with the New Is Null Operator in Data Mappers

Use the new IS NULL operator in Omnistudio Data Mapper Extract and Turbo Extract to filter null or empty records. Previously, the equality operator (=) didn’t consistently handle null filtering, often requiring complex workarounds. For example, to get records with empty account IDs, a Data Mapper operation such as AccountId = null AND Phone != null was required. With the IS NULL operator, you can explicitly filter blank fields, without adding an additional condition, such as != null.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience, Experience Cloud sites, and all versions of Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions where Omnistudio is enabled.

**Who:** This feature is available to Omnistudio customers who use the standard runtime and standard designer.
