See the lists of new and changed items at the end of the Development section.

- **[LWC API Version 66.0](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lwc_versioning.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Update the API version for your components to use new features and improvements. Versioning your Lightning web components ensures that your existing components aren’t affected when Salesforce ships new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements that change existing behavior. Versioning also helps Salesforce deprecate legacy features.
- **[Display Consistent Empty State Illustrations With Theme Support (Beta)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lc_empty_state_illustration.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Use the new `lightning-empty-state` component to add meaningful visuals and content to your components that show empty states. This component displays the latest Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) empty state illustration and correctly sizes it for the container, simplifying your UI development. The SVG illustrations automatically adjust to the user's selected theme, and can adapt to dark mode in SLDS 2 themes, for a consistent look and feel across your app. The new `lightning-illustration` component displays the same set of illustrations without text.
- **[Lightning Component Library Is Retiring](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lc_component_library_retirement.htm&release=260&type=5)**
It’s time to say goodbye to the Lightning Component Library, our legacy hub of Lightning component information. The legacy Component Library pages will redirect users to the new Lightning Component Reference in the Spring ’26 release. The tools for Lightning Web Security and Lightning Locker are also scheduled to redirect to their new locations.
- **[UTAM Documentation Moves to Salesforce Developers Site](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lc_utam_retirement.htm&release=260&type=5)**
UI Test Automation Model (UTAM) documentation hosted on utam.dev has moved to the Salesforce Developers site. The utam.dev site won’t be updated further.
- **[Get Complete Type Definitions for Lightning Base Components](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lwc_ts_support_bc.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Build your apps with confidence with the completion of the TypeScript rollout for all Lightning base components.
- **[Update Your Custom Components for Use in Setup with Agentforce (Beta)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lwc_aura_ai_descriptions.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Make your custom Aura and Lightning web components accessible to Agentforce in Setup by adding AI-related component and property descriptions to their js-meta.xml and .design files. AI component and property descriptions are used only in orgs that have Setup with Agentforce (beta) enabled.
- **[Check For Errors From the Disconnected DOM Node Rehydration Fix](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lwc_rehydration.htm&release=260&type=5)**
To improve framework consistency, Lightning web components now rehydrate only when they're actively connected to the DOM. For example, rehydration skips detached nodes to prevent lifecycle methods like `renderedCallback` from firing multiple times. Previously, certain edge cases allowed disconnected DOM nodes to be rehydrated, which could trigger reactive state updates or function invocations on detached components.
- **[Manage Page Errors with Error Console](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lc_error_console.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Enable the Error Console to capture and display component and page errors without interrupting your work in Salesforce. The console collects non-fatal errors so you can see them when it’s convenient for you, and they don’t require interaction. Fatal errors still show in modal error panels that you must dismiss before continuing. Fatal errors are also collected in the Error Console for later inspection.
- **[Do More with Lightning Out 2.0 Improvements](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lc_lightning_out_updates.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Learn about improvements to Lightning Out 2.0 and the Lightning Out 2.0 App Manager.
- **[LWS Trusted Mode Enablement Is Discontinued](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lc_lws_trusted_mode_discontinued.htm&release=260&type=5)**
In Spring ’26, we’re no longer enabling Lightning Web Security (LWS) Trusted Mode. Salesforce briefly released LWS Trusted Mode in Winter ’26. We re-evaluated LWS Trusted Mode and decided to make it available only as a beta service in the same Winter ’26 release. This feature gives customers great responsibility for the security of scripts allowed to run in their org. We want to make sure that the customers that enable LWS Trusted Mode have a strong security posture both as a company and built into their processes.
- **[API Distortion Changes in Lightning Web Security](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lc_lws_distortion_changes.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Lightning Web Security (LWS) includes new security protections with more distortions for web APIs. ESLint rules matching the distortions are also available.
- **[Local Dev is Now Live Preview](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lwc_live_preview.htm&release=260&type=5)**
To better reflect the real-time nature of component, Experience site, and Lightning app previews, Local Dev is now called Live Preview.
- **[Preview a Single Lightning Web Component in Your Browser (Generally Available)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lwc_single_component.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Use Single Component Live Preview to run a real-time preview of a Lightning web component in your browser. This feature, which is now generally available, includes some changes since the beta release.
- **[Work with More MCP Tools for LWC Development (Beta)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lwc_mcp_tools.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Build apps faster with MCP tools for LWC development.
