# Discovery for Salesforce CMDB and Service Graph

Automate asset tracking and gain better visibility into configuration item activity with new Discovery enhancements. Integrate Microsoft Intune with Salesforce CMDB to bring more device data into your configuration management processes. Use new Discovery audit fields on configuration items to understand when an asset was first discovered, updated, or rescanned. Review installed software and system components from the new Components tab on each configuration item record. These enhancements improve asset coverage, simplify operations, and give you better insights across your IT environment.

- **[Extend Asset Coverage by Integrating Microsoft Intune with Salesforce CMDB](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_it_srvcs_discovery_intune.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Connect Microsoft Intune with Salesforce CMDB to bring device inventory data into your configuration management processes. Intune syncs key attributes such as device identifiers, operating system details, and ownership information. Use the integration to enriche CMDB records, improve asset completeness, and reduce manual effort during asset onboarding.
- **[Understand Asset Discovery Activity by Using the Discovery Sources Card](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_it_srvcs_discovery_sources_card.htm&release=260&type=5)**
View and analyze asset discovery activity by using the Discovery Sources card in a Configuration Item (CI) record. Use audit fields to understand when a configuration item was first discovered, last updated, or rescanned by each discovery source. The Discovery card on the CI record also displays timestamps for agentless scans, agent scans, cloud connectors, and API-based integrations. The fields give you insights into asset freshness and help verify that discovery jobs are running as expected.
- **[Analyze Installed Software and System Components with the New Components Tab](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_it_srvcs_discovery_components.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Review and analyze installed software and system components by using the Components tab on a configuration item (CI) record. Review installed software, system processes, network adapters, certificates, and other component data collected during discovery. The tab organizes component inventory into structured categories and provides a searchable, filterable table. You can also add components manually when required.
