# Extend Attribute Configuration with Lookup Relationship Type in Attributes

Bring richer business context into CMDB by creating lookup relationship attributes that link Configuration Items (CI) to important Salesforce objects such as accounts, cost centers, and business units. Use these attributes to remove duplication and allow CI data to reflect organizational structures accurately. Teams gain deeper insights into ownership, financial alignment, and business dependencies directly from the CI records.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Unlimited, Enterprise, and Performance Editions with Agentforce IT Service where Salesforce CMDB and Service Graph is enabled.

**Who:** To create configuration item types and attributes, users must have the IT Service Configuration Item Type Manager permission.

**Why:** Organizations store important financial and organizational data in important Salesforce objects. Lookup relationship attributes let teams bring this context directly into CMDB without duplication.

**How:** From the App Launcher, open the Salesforce CMDB & Service Graph app. In the navigation pane, go to **CI Attributes Manager**. When you create a new attribute, select **Lookup Relationship** as the Type. Select the required Salesforce object from **Reference Object** and assign the attribute to CI types that require this relationship.
