# Speed Up CMDB Setup with Import Enhancements

Set up CMDB faster with improvements to the Configuration Item (CI) import workflow. Updated field mapping, clearer validations, and intuitive guidance reduce errors during data onboarding. Teams can upload CI records with greater accuracy and fewer iterations, helping organizations move from initial data load to operational readiness sooner while maintaining high data quality from the start.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Unlimited, Enterprise, and Performance Editions with Agentforce IT Service where Salesforce CMDB & Service Graph is enabled.

**Who:** To import configuration items, users must have the IT Service Configuration Item Type Manager permission.

**Why:** Import is a primary onboarding method for CMDB. Better mapping and clearer validation reduce rework and help teams configure their CMDB faster.

**How:** From the Salesforce CMDB & Service Graph app, you can go to **Import Configuration Items** or **All Configuration Items** to import CIs.
