# Ground Prompts with Live Web Data with Web Actions

Bring real-time web data into your prompts with Web Action in Prompt Builder. Get live information from external sources, control where results come from, and include citations to verify responses.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions with Einstein for Platform, or Einstein or Agentforce for Sales or Service add-on, or Agentforce Foundations.

**When:** This feature is available starting the week of April 6, 2026.

**Why:** Previously, Prompt Builder relied on Salesforce data. It limited access to external and frequently changing information such as market trends, industry news, and competitor insights. This update enables you to incorporate live web data into prompts, giving relevant and current responses with citations.

**How:** In Prompt Builder, in Template Settings add a Web Action and create a search query, select a search provider, and optionally specify domains to control where results originate from. When the prompt runs, Prompt Builder gets live web data and incorporates it into the generated response. The output includes citations with links to the original sources so you can verify where the information came from.
