Add prompt templates as actions. Invoke one prompt template from another to build consistent and modular prompt workflows.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions with the Einstein for Sales, Einstein for Service, or Einstein Platform add-on.
When: This feature is available starting the week of April 6, 2026.
Why: Previously, prompt templates operated independently, which limited reuse. This update introduces a new action type that chains prompt templates, simplifying maintenance and supporting modular prompt design.
How: In Prompt Builder, select add a new action and select an existing prompt template. Configure the inputs for the selected template, and include its response as part of your main prompt. When the prompt runs, the referenced template runs first, and the response merges in the final response. You can also view performance insights, including latency and token usage, for each template in the Performance Insights panel.
