# Prompt Builder

Simplify daily workflows by using prompt templates to bring generative AI into Salesforce experiences. Create, test, revise, customize, and manage prompt templates that use CRM data through merge fields referencing record fields, flows, related lists, and Apex. Prompt Builder provides tools to design effective prompts and securely connect your data with large language models (LLMs).

- **[Ground Prompts with Live Web Data with Web Actions](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_web_actions.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Bring real-time web data into your prompts with Web Action in Prompt Builder. Get live information from external sources, control where results come from, and include citations to verify responses.
- **[Pass Outputs Between Actions in Prompt Builder](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_prompt_template_data_piping.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Pass data between actions in Prompt Builder to create dynamic and flexible workflows. Use data from prompt templates, flows, Apex, or retrievers to drive downstream actions and generate more contextual responses.
- **[Use Prompt Templates as Actions in Prompt Builder](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_prompt_template_actions.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Add prompt templates as actions. Invoke one prompt template from another to build consistent and modular prompt workflows.
- **[Monitor Token Usage and Response Time in Prompt Builder](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_performance_insights.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Understand how your prompt runs with the centralized Performance Insights panel. View generation metrics such as response time, token usage, and masked values in one place while testing your prompt templates.
- **[Add New Inputs to Existing Prompt Templates](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_configurable_inputs.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Add new inputs to an existing prompt template in Prompt Builder. Add an object, free text, or data model objects directly from the Resources panel and include them in your template.
- **[Manage Actions and Inputs in the Resources Panel](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_resources_panel.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Prompt Builder introduces an enhanced Resources panel that simplifies how you manage actions and inputs. Add new actions and configure existing ones, such as flows, Apex, and retrievers, directly in Prompt Builder.
- **[Prompt Performance Metrics Is Scheduled for Retirement](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_retire_performance_metrics.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Prompt Performance Metrics is scheduled for retirement in Spring '26.
- **[Structure Prompt Template Output with Custom Lightning Types](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_lightning_type.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Define structured, predictable prompt responses by using custom Lightning types to control output fields and data types.
- **[Improved Prompt Template Batch Processing with Supported Models in Flow](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_prompt_template_batch_improvements.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Some model providers now support batch processing natively, increasing the maximum number of requests per job. When using models that support native batch processing in Flow, there is a limit of 50,000 items per day.
- **[Use Anthropic Models to Process More Data with Native Provider Batch Processing](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_anthropic_native_batch.htm&release=260&type=5)**
You can now batch more requests to Anthropic Claude Haiku 4.5 and Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.5 via Apex and Flow. When using models that support native provider batch processing, there is a limit of 10,000 items for each job in Apex.
