# Prevent Callout Failures During External System Downtime

Configure callout fulfillment steps to stop execution automatically when the external system is under maintenance. This configurable offline support puts the steps on hold to prevent fatal failures. Callout steps on hold appear on the fulfillment plan for fulfillment operators and managers to track and act on.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Agentforce Revenue Management, formerly Revenue Cloud, with the Revenue Cloud Advanced license.

**How:** Turn on the Future Dated Steps setting. Configure Off-hold Callout Limit with the maximum number of callout steps that can transition from an on-hold state to a ready or scheduled state per minute. Dynamic Revenue Orchestration puts callout steps on hold if the associated integration definition is inactive. When the integration definition becomes active, the steps are released in batches based on the execution limit.
