Whether you’re using Lightning components, Visualforce, Apex, or Salesforce APIs with your favorite programming language, these enhancements help you develop amazing applications, integrations, and packages for resale to other organizations.

Get a live preview of new secure development features coming in the Spring ’26 release in our roadmap webinar on January 21. Register [here](https://www.salesforce.com/events/webinars/platform-roadmap-alm-security/).

- **[Vibe Coding](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_vibe_code.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Use natural language prompts to build React apps, Lightning apps, and agents with Agentforce Vibes.
- **[React Apps (Beta)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_react.htm&release=260&type=5)**
With Salesforce Multi-Framework (Beta), you can build and reuse React apps directly from your Salesforce org. To use record data in your React apps, use Data SDK and GraphQL.
- **[Lightning Components](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lc.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Use complex expressions in your LWC templates. Lightning base components for empty states and illustrations are in beta. The TypeScript rollout for all Lightning base components is complete. Screen flows now support Lightning Web Component local actions. Use the Error Console to keep non-fatal errors from interrupting you. Learn about the latest improvements to Lightning Out 2.0.
- **[Lightning Types](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_lt.htm&release=260&type=5)**
With Lightning Types, you can define the data structures that drive custom components and structure Agentforce responses. Use these types to customize user interfaces in Agentforce and other supported Salesforce applications for consistent, platform-wide interactions.
- **[Lightning Design System](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_slds.htm&release=260&type=5)**
The Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) includes the resources to create user interfaces consistent with Salesforce Lightning principles, design language, and best practices.
- **[Visualforce](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_vf.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Visualforce contains a release update in Spring ’26, a continuation of an earlier release update.
- **[Apex](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_apex.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Run only Apex tests that are relevant to a deployment by using the `RunRelevantTests` (beta) test level. Apex cursors and pagination cursors are enhanced and generally available. Extract picklist fields by using the `ConnectApi.RecordUi.getPicklistValuesByRecordType()` method. Exposing Apex REST and AuraEnabled controller methods as agent actions is generally available. The `Blob.toPdf()` method uses the same PDF rendering service as Visualforce. Prepare your Apex code for changes to sharing recalculation behavior. Filter Test Discovery API results by using the `category` query parameter. Specify the number of oldest, completed async jobs to delete by using the method overload for `purgeOldAsyncJobs()`.
- **[API](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_api.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Learn about improvements, new capabilities, and important announcements in API version 66.0.
- **[Packaging](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_packaging.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Packaging facilitates the development and distribution of business apps. Use second-generation managed packages to create apps to sell and distribute on AppExchange. Use unlocked packages to develop internal business apps.
- **[DevOps](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_devops.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Salesforce DevOps brings best practices to development teams, empowering developers and builders to collaborate and deliver high-quality applications. By using a repeatable and scalable process aligned with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) principles, your teams can accelerate innovation.
- **[Development Environments](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_dev_environments.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Development environments are full-featured Salesforce environments that you use to develop and test existing or new features and custom applications. They include Developer Edition orgs, sandboxes, and scratch orgs.
- **[Platform Development Tools](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_tools.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Build applications collaboratively and deliver continuously with Salesforce Developer Experience (DX), the open and integrated experience for custom app development on Salesforce.
- **[Scalability](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_scalability.htm&release=260&type=5)**
Optimize and test your implementations. Troubleshoot errors, identify issues with application performance, and improve how you scale.
- **[Salesforce Functions](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_functions.htm&release=260&type=5)**

- **[AppExchange Partners](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_appexchange_partners.htm&release=260&type=5)**
AppExchange partners must follow new security requirements for Connected App (CA) and External Client App (ECA) solutions to better protect integrations.
