Development Environments

Development environments are full-featured Salesforce environments that you use to develop and test existing or new features and custom applications. They include Developer Edition orgs, sandboxes, and scratch orgs.

  • Monitor Sandbox Copy Progress in Greater Detail with an Updated UI
The updated UI for sandbox copies and refreshes now provides a detailed visual progress bar and real-time status updates for each stage. Users gain greater insight and transparency into the process, enabling better tracking of sandbox progress and completion.
  • Create Full Sandboxes for Large Production Orgs Faster with Quick Create
The Quick Create technology is now available for production orgs larger than 1 TB that are hosted on Hyperforce instances. While performance varies by org, most customers see processing times two to three times faster with Quick Create than the legacy method. With this capability, you can focus more time on developing and testing solutions, and less time waiting for sandboxes to build. Previously, the Quick Create technology was available only for production orgs up to 1 TB.
  • The New Data Mask and Seed (Beta)
Secure your sandbox data by using the new Salesforce Data Mask and Seed (beta). Admins and dev teams can define Data Mask policies and use them to mask sensitive sandbox data, such as proprietary, restricted, government-regulated, and personally identifiable information (PII).
