# Improve Scalability in Business Rules Engine

Experience minimized disruption, improved scalability and performance with improved limits on both standard and advanced decision tables. You can also invoke significantly more decision tables in your org per hour, allowing for more extensive and frequent processing.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where Business Rules Engine is enabled.

**Why:** These limits for standard decision tables have changed:

| Default Limit | Old Value | New Value |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Number of decision tables invoked per hour | 450,000 | 2 million |
| Limit of output results that a standard decision table can have | 5 | 10 |
| For each combination of Equals, Required, and All conditions are met (AND) columns, the maximum number of columns in a standard decision table | 10 | 15 |
| The limit of the number of groups that a standard decision table’s rows can be split into | 100 | 200 |
| Limit of input columns that a standard decision table can have | 30 | 100 |
| Number of full refreshes that can be made per hour for all standard decision tables in an org | 20 | 40 |

These limits for advanced decision tables have changed:

| Default Limit | Old Value | New Value |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The number of rows that an advanced decision table can process | 2,000,000 | 20,000,000 |
| The maximum number of rows in an advanced decision table for each combination of Equals, Required, and All conditions are met (AND) columns. | 50 | 200 |
| The number of advanced decision tables that can simultaneously be active in an org | 60 | 100 |
| Number of output columns in an advanced decision table | 5 | 10 |
| The number of output rows that can be returned when multiple sets of inputs are simultaneously looked up | 4,000 | 40,000 |
| The maximum number of advanced decision tables invoked per hour | 1,440,000 | 10,800,000 |
| Number of CSV files being uploaded simultaneously | 1 | 5 |
| The number of rows that you can upload in a CSV-based decision table | 10,000 | 50,000 |
| Number of rows updated in an incremental refresh of an advanced decision table | 100,000 | 1,000,000 |
| Number of CSV files being downloaded simultaneously | 2 | 5 |

These limits for expression sets have changed:

| Default Limit | Old Value | New Value |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The number of steps that a version can have | 150 | 200 |
| The number of local resources that can be used in a version | 500 | 1000 |
