# Tailor Your Approval Process with Custom Business Data

Capture business-specific data by modifying custom fields on approval entities through Apex triggers, custom actions, or directly from the record’s details page. For example, automate priority assignments on new approval work items by using triggers, or calculate profit margins during high-discount reviews by using custom actions. Previously, custom field updates weren’t supported on approval entities.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Agentforce Revenue Management, formerly Revenue Cloud, with the Revenue Cloud Growth or Revenue Cloud Advanced license where Advanced Approvals is enabled.

**Who:** To create an Apex trigger, you need the Author Apex permission. To create custom actions on approval pages, you need the Customize Application permission.
