# Approve Resubmissions Faster by Using Custom Logic

Approval designers can now implement custom logic for auto-approving resubmitted records, overriding smart approval conditions. Make sure that urgent, high-value records move quickly through the approval process. Approval designers can create a custom flow to evaluate any necessary criteria, including checks against the prior submission details. Simplify this verification by using the new Get Previous Related Record Details invocable action within the flow to easily capture the previously submitted record's details. The new Use Custom Auto Approval Logic field on the approval step then stores the custom flow’s decision value to determine if the step is auto-approved.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Agentforce Revenue Management, formerly Revenue Cloud, with the Revenue Cloud Growth or Revenue Cloud Advanced license where Advanced Approvals is enabled.

**Who:** To edit an approval workflow, you need the Manage Flow user permission.

**How:** From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select **Flows**. Open an Advanced Approvals flow.

- Create a custom flow in a background step.
- Open an approval step. On the step’s properties tab, select **Set custom logic for auto-approvals**, and specify the decision value of your custom flow in the Auto-Approve Step field.
