# Create an Anonymization Template for ServiceNow

When you create an anonymization template for ServiceNow, the new template automatically displays in the My Templates page. The template is empty and in Edit mode, meaning that its content can be modified.

1. Access the Anonymize application by clicking the Anonymize tab, which is located along the top of the Own UI. The Anonymize Templates tab is automatically displayed.

If you're the first user in your environment, or no anonymization templates exist in the Anonymize Templates tab, the UI presents the message: Let’s create your first Anonymization template.
2. Click + New Template. The New Anonymization Template window opens.
3. Enter information in the fields (all information is required to be provided unless otherwise indicated):
    1. Template Name: Name of the new template
    2. Description (optional): Describe the new template, its purpose, etc. making it easily identifiable.
    3. From the Based on drop-down menu, select the service whose objects will be made available for your selection upon creation of the template, for purposes of populating the new anonymize template.
    4. From the Locale drop-down menu, select the locale to associate with the template, for example Czech, English (Australia), Finnish, or Hindi. Anonymized field data conforms to the locale that you select. For instance, anonymized text is written in the alphabet/characters appropriate to the selected locale, or, for example, when anonymizing the PersonHomePhone field, fake numbers are populated in this field according to the phone number pattern of the selected locale.
4. Click Create.

The new anonymization template opens in Edit mode, meaning that its content can be modified. At creation, templates are empty of objects to anonymize.
