# The Anonymize Tabs for ServiceNow

When you open the Anonymize app (by clicking the Anonymize tab, which is at the top of the Own UI), there are two tabs. The Templates tab which is displayed automatically ‌upon access of the Anonymize application and the Activities tab.

## Templates Tab

The Templates tab displays each existing anonymization template as a tile. The tiles are alphanumerically sorted by name and present in ascending order, in left-to-right rows across the page.

Each anonymization template tile contains information and UI modalities.

- Template Name
- Description field: If there's no description for the template, two dashes (--) display instead of the description.
- Based on field: The name of the ServiceNow instance whose tables were selected for populating the anonymization template. If this service is currently unavailable, the UI replaces the service name with the message: Service is unavailable.
- The three dots icon located in the upper-right corner of each tile opens the tile's context menu with the Clone and Delete‌ buttons.

The top left side of the Templates tab includes:

- \+ New Template button. Clicking this button opens the New Anonymization Template dialog. In this dialog, you define the basic, necessary information to create an anonymization template (at creation, templates are empty of tables to anonymize).
- Search field. Enter text in this field to initiate a search of the tab to find matching template tiles. When a search yields results, just the matching tiles appear in the tab. Click X to clear the search field and redisplay all tiles in the tab.

## Activities Tab

The Activities tab lists an information entry for every standalone anonymize job. These entries summarize information about standalone anonymize jobs that either are currently being processed or have completed.

For a ServiceNow data environment, the Activities tab appears in the UI and can be opened, however, the tab always remains empty. No Anonymization Report is produced for anonymizations that are performed as part of ServiceNow seeding jobs. The anonymization processing phase of a ServiceNow seeding job is reported in the Seeding Report of that seeding job, including any associated warnings and errors.

## Clone and Delete Anonymization Templates

Each existing anonymization template appears in the Templates tab as a tile. Click the three dots icon in a tile to open a tile's context menu that provides options for you to clone and delete the Anonymization template.

### Clone a Template

You can clone any anonymization template displayed in the Templates tab.

1. In the Templates tab, on the tile of the template that you want to clone, click the three dots icon.

A menu opens that lists the Clone and Delete options.
2. Click Clone.

The My Templates page opens and displays the content of the newly cloned anonymization template. The template is in Edit mode, meaning its content can be modified.

The cloned template is named <original template name> (<n>).The first clone of a template is named <original template name> (1), the second clone of that same template is named <original template name> (2), etc. You can modify a cloned template's name and description.

### Delete a Template

You can delete any anonymization template that displays in the Templates tab.You can only delete anonymization templates that aren't being referenced in any seeding template. If an anonymization template that you want to delete is currently being referenced in one or more seeding templates, delete the anonymization template reference from all affected seeding templates (by clearing the Anonymization Template field on the seeding template) ‌then you can delete the anonymization template.

1. In the Templates tab, on the tile of the template that you want to delete, click the three dots icon.

A menu opens that lists the Clone and Delete options.
2. Click Delete.

    A delete message is displayed.
3. Click Yes, to delete it.
