# Update the Batch Configuration Custom Metadata Type

Batch Configuration Custom Metadata Type is included with Secure to handle issues that rise with certain Managed Package features within larger Salesforce orgs. Enabling the Custom Metadata Type with unique configurations enable, for example, specific jobs to finish without timeout errors, or load pages faster in some apps.

## Locate Hidden Settings

Hidden settings can be accessed by users with the proper permissions in Salesforce.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Custom Metadata, and then select Custom Metadata Types. The Custom Metadata Types list is displayed.
2. Locate “Batch Configuration” and click the Manage Records link to the left of it.
3. Click the New button to create a new Batch Configuration.
4. A template is displayed, providing all the options available for a new Batch Configuration.

## Access the Page Layout Editor

Not all batch configuration options are shown by default. In addition, as new features are added you might need to access the Page Layout Editor and manually add them to the page layout.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Custom Metadata, and then select Custom Metadata Types. The Custom Metadata Types list is displayed.
2. Locate “Batch Configuration” and click on the label.
3. On the next window, scroll down to the Page Layouts section and click Edit.
4. Use the layout editor at the top to drag and drop the missing options to the appropriate fields.
5. Click Save. The missing options are now available for use.
