# Swap Master Administrator Accounts in Own Government Cloud

Sometimes it's necessary for the Master Administrator to transfer the Master Admin role to another administrator.

To transfer the Master Administrator role from the current Master Administrator (A) to another Administrator (B) in an environment set up with single sign-on (SSO), follow these steps.

1. As the current Master Administrator (A):
    1. On the Security page, turn off SSO by selecting **Change to Password**. Your SSO settings are retained and will be reimplemented in Step 3.
    2. Sign out.
    3. On the Sign In page, click **Forgot password?**. Follow the steps to create a password.
    4. Sign in with the new password.
    5. Click **Replace Master Admin**, and select Administrator (B) as the new Master Administrator.
    6. Enter the Master Administrator (A) password.
2. As the designated Administrator (B):
    1. On the Sign In page, click **Forgot password?**. Follow the steps to create a password.
    2. Sign in with the new password.
    3. Verify that the Master Administrator role has been transferred.
3. As the new Master Administrator (B):
    1. Assign Administrator (A) to a business unit to give the Administrator access to the services contained in the business unit.
    2. On the Security page, turn on SSO again by selecting **Change to Single Sign-On (SSO)**. The screen re-populates with the retained SSO settings.
    3. Save your changes.
    4. Sign out.
    5. Verify that you can sign in using the SSO link.
4. As the previous Master Administrator (A):
    1. Sign out.
    2. Verify that you can sign in using the SSO link and that you are assigned to the correct business unit.
