# Configure Permissions and Access in Permission Sets

Configure object, field, and user permissions as well as other access and feature settings in permission sets.

### Required Editions

Create permission sets that contain all the permission and settings for a specific job or task. In permission sets, you can configure the following:

- [Object permissions](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.perm_sets_objects_and_fields.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Object permissions determine the base-level access users have to create, read, edit, and delete records for each object. Permissions sets are the recommended feature for managing object permissions.")
