The Account Switcher component allows external users to manage members from other accounts. External users with this permission can also make purchases on behalf of other accounts.

You can customize other components that use Account Switcher to drive business logic by using {!CurrentUser.effectiveAccountId} as the attribute value for account Id.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then select **Permission Sets**.
2. Under Permission Sets, click **New**.
3. Name the permission set Account Switcher User.
4. From the License dropdown menu, select a **Customer Community Plus** or **Partner Community** license.
5. Click **Save**.
6. Under Object Settings, select **Account**.
7. For all Account fields, select **Read Access**.
8. Click **Save**.
9. To add this permission to the external user who is managing an account, scroll down to Systems, and click **System Permissions**.
10. Click **Edit**, and select **Account Switcher User**.
11. Save your changes.
