# Update the Default Operating Hours Sharing Setting

The sharing setting for operating hours is set to Private, by default. To access the operating hours, change the default sharing setting.

### Required Editions

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Sharing Settings, and then select **Sharing Settings**.
2. Under Organization-Wide Defaults, click **Edit**.
3. For Operating Hours, change the default internal access from Private to **Public Read Only** or **Public Read/Write**, depending on your requirements.
4. Save your changes.
