# Show Appointments with Before and After Buffer Time on Salesforce Calender

Turn on Block Resource Availability to show the before and after appointment buffers on a service resource’s Salesforce calendar.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience.</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong> and <strong>Unlimited</strong> Editions</td></tr></tbody></table>

When creating a work type, you can specify meeting preparation and wrap-up time by specifying values in the Block Time Before Appointment and Block Time After Appointment fields. In Salesforce Scheduler, during appointment scheduling, the number of available time slots is automatically adjusted to accommodate the before and after buffer time. However, if the Block Resource Availability setting is disabled, the before and after appointment buffers aren’t reflected on the service resource’s Salesforce calendar. Enable the Block Resource Availability setting to reflect the before and after time blocks on the Salesforce calendar.

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Salesforce Scheduler, and then select **Salesforce Scheduler Settings**.
2. Enable **Block Resource Availability**.

Note Enable the [Event Management setting](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.ls_enable_event_mgmt.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use the Event Management setting to write appointments to Salesforce calendar. Service resources see their scheduled appointments as events on their Salesforce calendar. When you add the Service Appointment field to the Event page layout, the event details page shows a link to the corresponding service appointment in Salesforce Scheduler. Service resources can use the link to open the service appointment directly from the event on their Salesforce calendar. The Assigned Resources related list on the service appointment page also shows a link back to the event on the Salesforce calendar.") before you can enable Block Resource Availability.
