### Required Editions

- For instances that you created before Summer ‘23:
    - Create the Checked In status for the Service Appointment object, and then map the Checked In status to the Checked In status category.

When creating the Checked In status, enter the label as Checked In.
    - Add the Waitlists and Waitlist Management tab by modifying the tab settings. Add these tabs for the profile associated with users who create and manage the waitlists.
- Add the appointment category with the Drop In option to the work types that you want to relate to the waitlists for drop-in appointments.
- To check in a customer to a waitlist, you must also create an appointment category with only the Drop In option selected.
- To give users access to service appointments, provide profiles of users who manage service appointments read access to the Appointment Category object.
- Simplified View
    - To turn on Simplified View, first turn on **Skill and Skill Level Matching**.
    - To turn on or off Simplified View, first remove any active waitlist participants checked into any waitlist in your org. Salesforce recommends turning on this setting during scheduled downtime or outside of business hours.
