# Prerequisites to Enable Capacity-Based Scheduling

Before you use capacity-based scheduling, perform these prerequisites.

### Required Editions

- Verify that none of the Shift Work Topic records have the All Topics Supported field enabled. You can use the scripts in [Update Your Shift Work Topics for Capacity-Based Scheduling](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.ls_update_shift_work_topics_for_capacity_based_scheduling.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Prepare your org for capacity-based scheduling by updating the shift work topics.") to update your records.
- Use shifts to use capacity-based scheduling.
