# Considerations for Virtual Territories

Here are some things to keep in mind when you set up virtual territories.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience.</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong> and <strong>Unlimited</strong> Editions</td></tr></tbody></table>

- Salesforce Scheduler standard flows don’t support virtual territories, but you can create customized flows. If you create a customized flow for customers to book appointments with service resources related to virtual territories, don’t configure the Select Service Territory flow screen component.
- If more than 20 service resources are assigned with the same skill, we recommend that you use appointment distribution to optimize the number of resources shown for scheduling an appointment. For more information, see [Appointment Distribution](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.ls_appointment_distribution.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Appointment distribution lets you allocate appointments quickly and evenly among service resources. An equitable distribution of appointments ensures efficient use of service resources and increased productivity. Salesforce Scheduler uses service resources’ utilization scores to identify and suggest the least occupied eligible service resources for appointments. For an anonymous appointment, the least occupied eligible resource is automatically assigned to the appointment.").
- If both service resource filtering and appointment distribution are enabled, Salesforce Scheduler filters the resources based on the service resource IDs that you specify in the Filter by Resource IDs attribute. Scheduler then considers the value in the Number of Resources to Show (Appointment Distribution) flow attribute.
