Assign skills to service resources to indicate their areas of expertise. Service resources are assigned appointments based on their skills.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience.</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong> and <strong>Unlimited</strong> Editions</td></tr></tbody></table>

1. On a service resource record page, click **Assign Skills**.
2. Select one or more skills.

Important Ensure that you select all the necessary skills. A service resource can be assigned to an appointment only if the resource has all the skills that are required for the work type associated with that appointment.
3. Click **Next**.
4. Enter a skill level from 0 through 99.99 based on how your business measures skill level.

Important Omni-Channel doesn’t consider a skill value beyond 10. If you use the same resource for Salesforce Scheduler and Omni-Channel, then specify a value less than 10 for skills that are common to both products.
5. Enter a start date.
6. Save your changes.

The assigned skills now appear in the Skills related list tab on the service resource record page.

Tip To track a service resource’s skills easily, upload photos of licenses and certifications in the Files related list on the service resource record page.
