You must have access to policy controls before updating rule status. See [Access Policy Controls](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.devops_center_governance_access_policy_controls.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Policy controls is your central workspace for reviewing and managing the governance policies and rules active in your org.").

1. On the **Policies** page, click the name of a policy to open its details.

The policy's rules are listed with their current status. All rules are enabled by default.
2. Turn a rule on or off using its toggle.
3. Repeat for each rule you want to update.

A rule's new status takes effect immediately. An enabled rule evaluates coding agent activity and prevents violations. A disabled rule's enforcement stops evaluating coding agent activity. To view how your rule updates affect Agentforce Vibes coding agents, see [View active policies in Agentforce Vibes](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/agentforcevibes/guide/afv-ai-governance.html).
