# Create Slack Channel Action (Legacy)

Create a Slack channel in a Slack workspace.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;"><a href="https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.flow_ref_supported_editions.htm&amp;release=264.0.0&amp;type=5" title="Learn about the editions and user interfaces that support Flow Builder. Some Flow Builder features integrate with other Salesforce products that require additional licenses.">View supported editions.</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

Before using a core action for Slack, enable Salesforce for Slack integrations.

In Flow Builder, add an Action element to your flow. In the New Action window, select **Slack**, and then select **Create Slack Channel**.

Important Legacy actions are based on an outdated way of using Flows with Slack. Use the new [Create Slack Channel](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.create_slack_channel.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Creates a Slack channel. Channels in Slack can be either public or private.") action for the best expereince.

Before using a core action for Slack, enable Salesforce for Slack integrations.

In Flow Builder, add an Action element to your flow. Select the **Slack** category, and search for an action.

## Set Connection Values for Slack

The flow sends the connection values that you provide to Slack to retrieve an access token.
