# Add a Screen Flow to an Authenticated Experience Cloud Site

To add a screen flow to a page on your authenticated Experience Cloud website, use an Experience Builder Flow component. Use this method if you have a customer portal or other website that requires users to log in to use.

Before you begin, complete the tasks in [Experience Cloud](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.networks_overview.htm&type=5&language=en_US) to set up your user licenses and Experience Cloud site.

Note To require that users log in to your Experience Cloud site, purchase Experience Cloud licenses.

This solution includes multiple roles and permission sets, which are listed in the linked topics that provide the instructions to complete the steps in Flow Builder, Experience Cloud, and Setup. To refer to this topic, bookmark this page or keep it open in a separate browser tab.

Note

- Flows in Experience Cloud sites are supported through the Flow and Suggested Actions components.
- Flow creators can overwrite error messages with their own content.

1. In Flow Builder, create and activate a screen flow.

See [Build a Flow](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.flow_build.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "After you model the process that you want to automate, design and build the flow in Flow Builder.") and [Screen Flows](https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/screen-flows) in Trailhead.
2. In Experience Builder, add the Flow component to the section of the page where you want the screen flow to appear.

    See [Flow (Experience Builder Component)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.rss_flow_component.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
3. In the property editor, configure the Flow component.
    1. From the Flow dropdown, select the active screen flow that you want to show on the page.
    2. If the flow includes variables that are available for input, the variable fields appear in the property editor. You can enter a value for each variable or leave the fields blank.
4. For record detail pages, if you want to send information about the record to the flow, select to pass that information to the flow.
    - To send the record ID to the flow, make sure that you have a text variable named `recordId` in your flow that's available for input. Then, in the flow property editor, under `recordId`, select **Pass record ID into this variable**.
    - To send the entire record to the flow, make sure that you have a record variable named `recordId` in your flow that's available for input. Then, in the flow property editor, under `recordId,` select **Pass all field values from the record into this flow variable.**. Here's an example of sending a record to a flow: [Flow Example: Use an Online Form to Create a Record](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_flow_build_example_use_online_form_create_record.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Create a screen flow that collects information about a new opportunity and then automatically creates an opportunity record. For example, on customer calls, your reps scramble to capture notes about customer interest in new products. They often use sticky notes, which are hard to read or get lost. Create an online form embedded on the case record page so they can quickly capture and confirm basic information. When they submit the form, the screen flow creates a new opportunity on the Account record that’s related to the case.")
5. If you want unauthenticated web visitors to complete the screen flow, grant guest user profile permission to the flow and to the Experience Builder site.

See [Allow Guest Users to Access Flows](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.rss_flow_guestuser.htm&type=5&language=en_US) and [Guest User Setup Checklist](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.networks_guest_checklist.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
6. If your screen flow includes a data element, give object-level and field-level permissions to the guest user profile in Setup.

See [Edit Object Permissions in Profiles](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.perm_sets_object_perms_edit.htm&type=5&language=en_US) and [Set Field Permissions in Permission Sets and Profiles](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.users_profiles_fls.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
7. Save your work.
8. In Experience Builder, publish your site and test your flow on your site.

See [Publish Your Experience Builder Site Customizations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.community_designer_publish.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
