Note You don't need to be an admin to have the Manage Flow permission. Ask your admin to add it to your profile or permission set.

Use a parent flow and a child flow to clone a record with all its field values. This two-flow approach is necessary because the Get Records element stores only fields that are referenced elsewhere in the flow, even when you select the option to automatically store all fields. First create a child flow that creates a copy of a record variable that it receives as input. Then, in the parent flow, use a Subflow element to call the child flow and pass the record to clone. This method creates a copy of the record that includes all fields from the original that the running user can access.

The cloned record doesn’t include fields that the running user doesn’t have edit access to. So before you begin, review [Read-Only Field Restrictions for Flow Record Processing](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.flow_considerations_readonlyfields.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Fields the running user can't edit are inaccessible to the flow during record creation and updates. This happens when the user lacks field-level permissions or when the field is a system field.")

- **[Create a Child Flow to Clone a Record](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_flow_build_data_clone_in_child_flow.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Build a reusable autolaunched flow that accepts a record as input and creates a clone with all field values the running user can edit. A parent flow calls this child flow using a Subflow element and receives the cloned record as output. Complete this task before building the parent flow.
- **[Create a Parent Flow to Clone a Record Using a Child Flow](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_flow_build_data_clone_parent_flow.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
After you create and activate the child flow that clones a record, build the parent flow that gets the source record and passes it to the child flow using a Subflow element. The Subflow element's output gives you access to the cloned record for use later in the parent flow.
