1. From Setup, enter External Data Sources in the Quick Find box, then select **External Data Sources**.
2. Click **Edit**, and select **Eligible for External Change Data Capture**.
3. Click **Save**.
4. From the External Objects list , select the external object that you want to track.
5. Click **Edit**, and select **Track Data Changes**.
6. Click **Save**.

After you enable change tracking, a publication channel is created under the topic for the external object. For example, `/data/Object Name__ChangeEvents` appears as `/data/Products__ChangeEvents`, where Product is the object name.
