# Lifecycle Center Skills

Lifecycle Center skills are reusable instruction packages that enable AI coding tools to set up, query, test, and operate Lifecycle Center according to your team's DevOps standards and workflows.

## How Lifecycle Center Skills Work

When your request matches a skill's scope, the AI coding tool activates the skill and follows its step-by-step instructions. Skills automatically run the required Git and Salesforce CLI `sf` commands for your org, covering tasks like pipeline setup, work item management, testing, promotion, and conflict resolution, so you don't have to describe the steps or underlying commands.

Skills don't require a specific IDE or conversational interface. They support end-to-end release automation across compatible AI coding tools and headless environments.

For example, tell your AI coding tool:

- "Create a work item for the login page bug fix."
- "Check out work item WI-000123."
- "Mark WI-000123 as ready to promote."
- "Run the test suites before I promote to staging."

## Access Lifecycle Center Skills

Lifecycle Center skills are available in the open-source [sf-skills repository](https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills) on GitHub. The repository includes available skills, setup instructions, and usage examples.

## Lifecycle Center Skills Considerations

- Skill names, file paths, and internal structure can change or be removed between releases. Skills don't carry the same backward-compatibility guarantees as Salesforce APIs or generally available features. For the list of available skills, see the [sf-skills repository](https://github.com/forcedotcom/sf-skills).
- Skills use your authenticated Salesforce Org. Before running a skill, authenticate Salesforce CLI to the target org.
- The sf-skills repository uses DevOps Center-based skill names. This naming reflects the original product and remains unchanged.
