# Fix a Stalled Promotion When the Promotion Succeeded

If DevOps Center deployed the changes to the target environment and merged them into the target stage branch, but the promotion doesn’t appear as completed in DevOps Center, update the associated records to reflect the successful result.

To identify where the promotion stalled, see [Troubleshoot a Stalled Promotion](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.devops_center_promotion_stalled.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "A promotion can stall while Lifecycle Center deploys changes to the target environment or merges changes into the target stage branch. Check the deployment and change request to determine where the promotion stalled, and then follow the appropriate recovery procedure.").

1. In your DevOps Center org, open Developer Console, then select the **Query Editor** tab.
2. To find the Deployment Result record that’s still in progress, run this SOQL query:

    ```
    SELECT Id, sf_devops__Status__c
    FROM sf_devops__Deployment_Result__c
    WHERE sf_devops__Status__r.sf_devops__Status__c = 'In Progress'
    ```
3. If the query returns multiple records, identify the record associated with the affected work item.

    Copy the ID of a returned record. Replace `<deployment-result-record-id>` in this query with the copied ID, and then run the query. Repeat for each returned ID until the query returns the affected work item.

    ```
    SELECT Id, Name
    FROM sf_devops__Work_Item__c
    WHERE sf_devops__Operation_Status__c = '<deployment-result-record-id>'
    ```
4. In the original query results, select the deployment record associated with the affected work item, and then click **Open Detail Page**.
5. On the Deployment Result record, set **Deployment Id** to `undeployed`, and then save your changes.
6. Click the **AOR-<id>** link in the **Status** field to open the associated Async Operation Result record.
7. On the Async Operation Result record, change **Status** to **Completed**, and then save your changes.
8. In DevOps Center, refresh the Pipeline Stages view.

    The stalled-promotion error no longer appears.
