# Lifecycle Center Governance Policies

Lifecycle Center Governance includes a catalog of predefined policies covering the risk areas of AI-assisted development—from security vulnerabilities and unauthorized deployments to code quality and compliance standards.

All policies are Salesforce-defined. Policies are organized into 10 categories and consist of rules that you can enable or disable individually. You can view and manage them in **Policies**.

- **[Governance Policy Categories](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.lifecycle_center_governance_policy_categories.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Policies are grouped into 10 categories based on the type of risk they address. Each category contains a set of policies, and each policy contains a set of rules.
- **[Access Policy Controls](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.devops_center_governance_access_policy_controls.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Policy controls is your central workspace for reviewing and managing the governance policies and rules active in your org.
- **[Governance Rules](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.lifecycle_center_governance_rules.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Each Governance policy is made up of rules. Rules define the specific behavior that Lifecycle Center Governance enforces for coding agents.
