# What is Lifecycle Center Governance

Lifecycle Center Governance is a centralized policy enforcement layer built into the Lifecycle Center. Through policy controls, Governance defines what coding agents can do across your org—at the point of action, before violations reach your environment.

AI tools in development move fast. Without guardrails, coding agent-generated code can introduce security vulnerabilities, bypass data access controls, or skip required quality standards. The faster AI adoption grows, the harder it becomes to maintain consistent, compliant practices across your org.

Governance gives Lifecycle Center admins predefined policies to define and monitor coding agent behavior. All policies are organized into categories and each policy consists of a set of rules that target specific risk areas. Each rule maps to enforcements—such as Code Analyzer checks—that keep coding agents aligned with your org's security and compliance standards. Governance supports Agentforce Vibes coding agents.
