# Create a Slack Canvas Action

Creates a canvas in Slack. A Slack canvas is a surface built into Slack where you can create and share fully-formatted content.

### Required Editions

In Flow Builder, add an Action element to your flow. In the New Action window, select **Slack**, and then select **Create a Slack Canvas**.

## Usage

To use this action, first [connect Salesforce and Slack](https://slack.com/help/articles/30754346665747-Connect-Salesforce-and-Slack), and set the Create a Canvas [Workflow Builder step](https://slack.com/help/articles/16749280664595-Slack-administration--Manage-access-to-Workflow-Builder-connectors#set-specific-access) in Slack to **Everyone**. The user you set as the canvas owner can [manage access permissions](https://slack.com/help/articles/15678967614611) in Slack to share it with others.

## Set Slack Canvas Details

 
| Input Parameter | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Title | Title for your new canvas. |
| Owner Slack ID | The Slack user ID of the canvas owner. Find Slack user IDs using the [Look Up a Slack User Action](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.flow_ref_elements_actions_slack_look_up_slack_user.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Identifies a Salesforce user's Slack ID.") action or open a user profile and click **Copy member ID**. |

## Store Output Values

 
| OUTPUT Parameter | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Canvas ID | Unique ID for the Slack canvas. |
| Canvas Permalink | Unique URL used to share the canvas in Slack. |
