# Builder Central (Beta) Permissions

Beyond the base access that turns on Builder Central and lets a user build, some apps need extra access, such as a license or add-on, based on what your app includes, such as generative AI features or an agent.

To enable Builder Central and give each builder access, see [Set Up Builder Central](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.builder_central_set_up.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Turn on Builder Central and give each admin and builder access, so your team can start building apps and agents by describing what they want."). That base access, Customize Application to enable and Access Builder Central to build, covers a general build. The requirements in this topic are additional and apply based on the type of app you build.

| Capability | Requirement | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Agents | Agentforce and Data 360 | Required for any app that includes an agent. Your org needs Agentforce, through Foundations or Agentforce 1 with Einstein and then Agentforce turned on in Setup, and Salesforce Data 360 enabled. Neither is required to use Builder Central or to build an app that doesn't include an agent. |
| Other generative AI features | Einstein add-on | Non-agent generative AI, such as prompt templates, is entitled separately from Agentforce through an Einstein add-on, for example Einstein for Service, Sales, or Platform. |

When you build an app, Builder Central creates and assigns the permission sets that the app needs. This is separate from the Access Builder Central permission that an admin assigns to give users access to Builder Central itself. After you finish building an app, verify that each user has the access that their role requires.
