# Set Up Personal Notifications for ServiceNow

Control email notifications you receive for ServiceNow services, such as backups, jobs, data privacy, permissions, and alerts. Customize notifications for individual services to stay informed about the features that are important to you.

My Notification settings only affect the email notifications you receive as an individual. They don't affect other users in your account. Email notifications are configured either as a default for ServiceNow and ServiceNow Sandbox Data or for individual services. Within these are notification types for:

- Backups
- Jobs
- Data Privacy
- Permissions
- Alerts

1. Select My Notifications from the Personal area and select the Recover Tab.
2. From the table, select either the defaults for ServiceNow and ServiceNow Sandbox Data or the individual Service to configure and the notification type.
    
    You can turn on notifications for Jobs, Permissions and Alerts.
3. Turn on specific notifications for Backups, by clicking the three dots.
4. Turn on specific notifications for Data Privacy by clicking the three dots.
5. After configuring, click Save.
